Born to a war hero of the Indian army, I was introduced to golf at the age of 11 by my father, Colonel Ravi Pathania.
I have always been a sportsman, playing cricket and soccer up to national levels and setting various records in athletics.
After winning various club championships and playing junior golf, I turned pro in 2005 and earned the prestigious “Rookie of the Year” award. My game was noticed when I shot a 61 on the Domestic tour, followed by a 63 a few tournaments later. I then went on to play on the Asian tour in 2008 and won my first event in 2010 in Mumbai.
Since moving to Toronto in 2015, I have played and won on the PGA of Ontario while continuing to coach and give back to the community. As I continued to strengthen my game, I had the opportunity to train with ex world number one Bob Toski and Jim McLean. I now conduct private and semi-private golf lessons at the Academy of ClubLink at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. I also teach at nearby Rattlesnake Point Golf Club in Milton. I look forward to bringing the different ingredients of experience, knowledge and physicality to improve your game to the highest levels.
A regular on the professional tour since 2005, Mandeo has been one of the most consistent golfers around and considered one of the longest hitters on the PGTI circuit.
Trained under legends like Bob Toski and Jim McLean, Pathania’s length has piqued the interest of none other than Tiger Woods’ former coach Sean Foley.
No mention of long driving can be complete without mentioning Mandeo; the head pro at Jaypee Greens Golf Club, now plying his trade on the Canadian GA is the original prima donna of the long driving opera.
His brand of ‘grip it and rip it’ has earned him quite a few course records and the dubious record of having cracked fourteen drivers! A bonafide gym rat, Mandeo obliterates golf courses with his thunderous drives and powerful ball-striking. The man is unquestionably the king of swing, and with his lusty blows he continues to conquer even the most challenging golf courses.
